Get Fit & Tone That Bum!

Hey, I'm Elyse and I'm a 20 year old junior in college. I love working out, a dose healthy competition and yummy fresh food. I'm a very positive person, and try at all costs to ignore negative thoughts (especially about body image!) and help others stay positive. Come along for the ride, folks. It'll be a good one, for sure.

I don't weight myself, mainly because I don't have a scale in my apartment. I don't care, I'm not looking to lose weight. I just want to get back into shape! But for those who want to know, I'm 5'8 and ~160 lbs. So there you go!

I’ve had absolutely zero time to do anything active today. Grrr… Well, guess I’m not going out tonight, unless it’s to run stairs. BOOM. How dedicated am I? ha!

Progress Pics Week 3.

I’ve been eating pretty well (save for a trip to the fair this past weekend, but that was a treat!) and have been hitting the gym regularly. I feel better and stronger. And I love love love going to the gym in the morning. It makes me fantastically happy all day.

And pardon the sweat… I just rolled in from the gym. Ha!

Alright, alright. I didn’t plate it very nicely. And the rice looks awkwardly huge because of the angle, but it was soooo good!
I made….
balsamic chicken, roasted zucchini and tomatoes, and wild rice.
I love cooking my own food (until I get sick of it and want my mom to cook for me when I go home…)

Breakfast: Whole wheat toast with PB & a clementine

Lunch: Spinach salad with avocado, mushrooms and tofu w/ a light sesame dressing

Now time to study study study then hit the GYM. I don’t like my gym at school. It’s always so packed with people, you end up having to wait for equipment all the time. No good. Gotta do it anyway. I guess that’s what happens when there are only 2 full gyms for 40,000+ people.

Started a new lifting routine. I can’t extend my arms without my biceps hurting like a mofo. I’m digging it.

Goal Time!

I have 2 new goals!

  1. Run 12+ miles a week (at least 3 miles, 4 days/week)
  2. Do at least 4 consecutive pull-ups.
